Meizu’s heavily leaked phone, the M6S has once again appeared on the rumoursphere. This time the handset has been spotted on Geekbench website. Also known as the mblu or Blue Charm S6, the handset is scheduled to launch on the January 17th. Interestingly, we got to know earlier today that the Meizu M6S would come in an Exynos and a MediaTek flavour. The domestic variant would be an Exynos variant. While the global variant would be a MediaTek-powered handset.
The Geekbench listing here supports earlier reports of an Exynos 7872 chipset in the phone. As the Exynos 7872 sports a hexa-core design of cores, the Geekbench index also shows six cores. Moreover, the listed variant has 3 GB of RAM and runs Android 7.0 Nougat instead of Android 8.0.
The Exynos 7872 is a low-budget SoC based on the 14 nm process. It’s got 4 Cortex A53 cores and 2 Cortex A73 cores coupled with a Malui G71-MP3 GPU. As for the MediaTek variant,it is expected to be MediaTek MT6750 SoC.
Among other info, the Meizu M6S is also expected to get a virtual mBack button as an alternative to navigation keys. Contrary to what has been reported by some on social media, Meizu will allow its M6S users to choose between virtual navigation keys and a virtual mBack button. The signature mBack button would function the same as the physical mBack key according to sources.
